The C2 Shooting Center is Southeastern Virginia's premier recreational and small arms tactical shooting facility. With a safe, friendly and professional atmosphere, the C2 Shooting Center offers one of the safest and finest facilities of its kind. The C2 Shooting Center consists of both public and private facilities where participants can enjoy recreational shooting at their leisure as well as attending private or group instruction from one of our NRA and/or professional instructors in the discipline of their choice.
In March of 2007 the C2 Shooting Center was founded by Virginia Beach native Kent A. Mote. Mr. Mote is an NRA certified law enforcement instructor and also a highly skilled marksman with a variety of long range weapons.
When not on the telephone in pursuit of finding an answer to the concern of the day, Mr. Mote can often be found out on the range offering instruction to a wide variety of individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. He has found, at least for him, teaching others to be the most personally rewarding activity he has ever undertaken. Mr. Mote has also found great pleasure in the affiliation of Al Clark, of Clark Consulting, with the C2 Shooting Center. Mr. Clark is a former Navy SEAL, and one of the most well known tactical and firearms trainers in the industry. His experience in training some of the most elite units in the military and law enforcement communities is second to none. In addition to his duties at C2 Shooting Center, Mr. Mote serves as an tactical firearms instructor for Clark Consulting. Mr. Mote and Mr. Clark have worked together on many training projects in recent years traveling extensively throughout the United States.
Mr. Mote and the entire C2 Staff are committed to providing the finest and safest facilities in the industry. Whether a beginner, an accomplished shooter, a concealed weapons holder in need of further instruction or a government agency in need of a valuable training asset, the C2 Shooting Center has the facilities, instructors and curriculum to fulfill your shooting requirements.
The C2 Center has provided range facilities for several elements of the US Navy special operations community, boat teams, EOD, MCAST, the recently created Naval Ground Forces training program, the US Coast Guard, the US Air Force, the US Marine Corps, the US Marshall Service and several of the local law enforcement and university police agencies, each of which protect our freedoms and way of life.
Whether it be a policeman in a patrol car, a campus security response team or one of the young men and women serving our country both here and abroad, each of these individuals provide an invaluable service and deserve not only our gratitude and respect, but also the best training our center and our country can provide them to protect themselves from harm. Many of us in today's world can easily adopt a "not in my backyard" attitude when it comes to many things needed to keep up with our world and lifestyle as it exists today. Whether it's a master jet base, a factory, a train station, a soccer complex, a shopping center, or even a shooting range we have to learn to accept the need for these facilities, if they are strategically located, well maintained and are proven to be good neighbors. The C2 Shooting Center, modeled from a Heckler & Koch design, a leader in the industry, has operated without incident since it was approved for construction by the City of Virginia Beach in 1984. With a fresh approach to design, aesthetics, stewardship and the usage of new technologies not previously available, Mr. Mote has vowed to ensure the survival of this asset and its right to exist.
No matter one's individual political ideals, as Americans we are all involved in insuring the survival of our country and our way of life. No matter how; or why; our fathers, mothers, sons and daughters find themselves in harm's way; while in harms way these individuals deserve more than just smart weapons and Humvee armor. These soldiers also need more than "the basic skills" to protect themselves and fight for their survival when that survival is jeopardized. At the lowest level, the fight comes down to the individual and his or her skills and their belief in themselves that they can win. We offer our facility and our training programs as another tool to aid our military personnel to that end.
All of the people associated with the C2 Center humbly ask for your kind support of our efforts in what we feel is a worthy endeavor. This has been done at no small cost and the cost of membership reflects that investment. We are proud to offer the continued existence of the last privately held professional outdoor shooting facility open to the public 363 days a year while still offering, however small, an option in helping our military and law enforcement communities receive the training and education they feel they need through the usage of our training areas.
